In 2022, the University of South Carolina had to change the mascot name for Sir Big Spur because they wanted to change the length of his comb. The University did a Twitter poll for a new name. 71% of the votes were for "Cock Commander," and the tweets went viral. The University chose "The General" instead, but I wanted to honor this amazing painting with the people's choice - "Cock Commander."

He is both defined and defining in the paths less traveled. They call him Flippin; a name birthed in legacy and revered in lore. He is a machine of undaunted patience and trained acceleration. Looking, learning, and lasting, he is a reminder that there are times we can touch, places we can hold, and purpose we can master.

Endless string of sound, mimicking all they encounter. Pouring color into their personality, yet keeping a bleak appearance. You will most commonly hear the unmated males singing throughout the night, particularly on a full moon. The love for our state bird runs deep.
